WILD ABOUT READING - Zone 3 - Grow at The Nook

Spending time in green spaces reduces stress, anxiety and depression, while boosting sleep, happiness and social connection.  The 2,400 sq metre Oasis Garden at the Royal Berkshire Hospital supports staff and volunteer wellbeing by offering a restorative soundscape and tranquil haven away from daily pressures.  The design blends quiet areas for reflection with spaces for socialising, exercise, and therapeutic gardening, ensuring both physical and emotional benefits.  Covered seating, heating and lighting allows year-round use, while natural sounds and greenery create a calming atmosphere.  Our memorial garden also honours colleagues, providing a peaceful place for remembrance within a vibrant, multifunctional outdoor environment.
